About the project

The brief

Having experience and in-depth knowledge of the online car and van rental market, Exact Marketing director Andy Roberts wanted to capitalise upon this and generate income purely from affiliated sales generated through a search marketing strategy.

The solution

The long-term strategy was and still is to develop a series of van hire websites targeting specific geographical UK locations. The project began with research to identify which towns, cities and airports had the potential to deliver a significant volume of van hire sales. Various exact match domains were then obtained to make the optimisation process a little easier and also as a long term investment.

The creative design and technical development of each bespoke website were relatively straight forward, using ExactCMS for quick and easy deployment. Each website features a fully integrated 3rd party van hire booking engine which allows visitors to get a quote and book a van online. Dedicated telephone numbers also track sales generated offline via the reservation team.

Glasgow Van Hire was the first in the series to launch and enjoyed quick success with bookings taking place within weeks. More websites followed and using search engine optimisation, link building and content marketing to target a range of keywords, each has enjoyed success.
